If you want to know what is going on at Twisted Oak Farm, I am the one to talk to. I know everything.
I overheard mom talking about this new thing that is going to start this May. It’s called “Lady’s Days”.
She said a bunch of fun, friendly gals are going to come hang out

with us. I am hoping they will like llamas. And not wear hats or sunglasses. I don’t like those. Maybe they will give me kisses! Mom said they are also going to be doing other fun things as well. Nothing is as fun as me.
She asked me to include the website where interested ladies can get more information. So here it is: www.twistedoakfarms.com.
I hope to see some of you at the farm later this spring or in the summer!

Bug here. Head of security. It has been a bit too busy around the neighborhood lately.
We just finally got rid of that annoying coyote that came running through the farm and grabbed one of our hens last fall. Chance gave him a stern chasing… which resulted in Chance being on the wrong side of the fence the next morning.
But being the diligent guardian he is, he waited patiently for mom to come let him back in at 6 am.
Then, there were the raccoons. Oh, how I loathe them. Our not so bright hens decided to lay eggs in the front yard. Yes, they laid them on the other side of the fence. Not the smartest animals. The raccoons found them before we did. A black mark on our record. Before the last six months, us livestock guardian dogs (LGDs) had a perfect record.
The team had a meeting, and we are stepping up our game. This has resulted in a lack of sleep and some cranky dogs, but as long as our charges are safe…
Last week, the apex predator of the area paid a visit to our street. The mountain lion. We were on it. But this has left us all on edge. Vigilance is our middle name these days.
Nanny Chicken reporting for duty with some really important updates that you are all going to want to know.
Babies! The babies are coming. As some of you know, last year, I “borrowed” a litter of piglets after the disappointment of losing my own future chicks to Rafiki (the piglets’ actual mom). She ate my eggs, so I feel justified in taking her babies.

I have promised the soon to be mama pigs that I will not… ok, I will try not to steal any more piglets. Instead, I am making myself the official keeper of all baby news and updates.
We have our first litter of KuneKune piglets due at the end of April/beginning of May. If all goes well, we are crossing our toes (and hooves) for three litters this spring:
- Bumbleberry x Sebastian
- Nala x Dante
- Kanga x Dante
And over in the main pasture, we are planning on eight Nigerian Dwarf does kidding this year. Four have already been bred for kids due in April/May.
There is going to be so much to keep track of soon. I might need an assistant!

Just dropping in to say “Hay!” And to let you know that life is good. Mom made me a new sleeping house because the tortoise kicked me out of my old house.
I also get to go out on the hill everyday… well, unless it is raining… to meander around and eat grass.
The other pigs do not get to come out right now. That’s because I am special. That’s what mom says. I stand at the fence and let them know I am the chosen one, and they aren’t. They don’t like me.
Until next week! Don’t forget to squeal loud when you want a banana, and if your mom doesn’t listen, start throwing the furniture around on the deck. It works every time.

PS – Mom says that I am getting my own line of “Francis P. Oink” merch! So stay tuned. Who wouldn’t want things with me on them?
