The Week of February 1, 2026

Hey Farm Friends,

I am back this week with more farm updates. It’s hard to believe it is February already… Although it feels like summer. Whose idea was it to turn up the heat? The sheep and I still have thick coats on, and I heard we won’t get our annual haircuts until April?

I won’t survive. Seriously, I am going to have to make some calls and get that schedule moved up. Does anyone have the shearer’s number? If so, send it to me. I can’t trust mom to take care of this one.

The KuneKune girls have left the boars’ pens and rejoined the herd. Kanga thought she would come back in and boss Truffles around. That was not her smartest idea. Words were had… more like squeals. A lot of them.

Rafiki was happy to have her mom, Bumbleberry, and her sister, Nala, back home. They spent some quality bonding time napping in the sun.

In just a few months, we will be open for farm tours! If you want to come meet me… and of course, the rest of the animals here at Twisted Oak Farms, you can sign up for a farm tour here: https://forms.gle/wGCgiW3fS7NZTpjXA

Spoiler alert: You get to play with the piglets and the baby goats, too!

Bug here with this week’s security update.

Well, it looks like the mountain lion heeded our warning and moved out of the neighborhood. Good thing. Remington was getting ready to do some serious damage. He’s been working out every day. That boy is a machine.

The coyotes have been silent, and the raccoons are steering clear of the farm this week. We have taken to yelling at the turkeys across the street and patrolling which birds can land in our pond. We have to keep up appearances after all.

It has been great to get caught up on some sleep. Even if it is with one eye open.

Nanny Chicken, back with more baby news:

Last week I mentioned that the Nigerian Dwarf does were planning on kids this year, but in my excitement over my new responsibilities, I forget to tell you who is expecting… So forgetful I can be.

In April & May, these girls will be welcoming some adorable bundles of joy and hoppiness:

  • Jewel x Charming – Mom says this is the last year before she is retired. She is the queen of the herd, and it is important that she lives a long life here at Twisted Oak.
  • Tanzi x Parker – Tanzi is Jewel’s daughter, and her and her sisters were the first kids born here on the farm many years ago. Two years ago, Tanzi gave birth to quintuplets! FIVE kids. So she took a break last year to just get some well deserved rest and relaxation.
  • Alaska x Roman – Last year, Alaska had triplets. She is such a good mom. This year, we are hoping for a beautiful doeling from her to carry on her line. Alaska’s mom is Icelyn, one of our first girls to join the farm.
  • Suri x Roman – Suri will be a first time mama this year. She is absolutely stunning, so we are hoping her kids are as nice as she is.

That’s all I have for now. I need to get back to organizing so that I am ready for the chaos when it begins. I have decided to start interviews for an assistant. So far, I have had two applicants, Apple Chicken and Kiwi Chicken (both daughters of Banana Chicken, the matriarch of our family).

This week was almost not exciting at all. Almost. And then, Saturday, a new friend came and met me. Her name is Colette, and she gave me belly scratches.

But most importantly, you will never guess what she brought me… A pumpkin. A giant, round ball of scrumptiousness.

She said it was all for me. Not the other creatures that look like me. All mine. Which is good because I don’t like to share. Not even with my dogs. I ate the entire thing. It took me a few hours, but I did it.

Also, this week, my merch line launched. Mom says pre-orders are open. Here is the link if you want to see.

Until next week, eat lots of pumpkins and enjoy all the belly rubs you can get.
