Hey Farm Friends,
Big news in the boy goat pen. I guess it is not just for the boy goats as the boy sheep and Bill, our duck, also live in there. I digress…
The pen has two new residents! Bill got new friends. Two black girl ducks named Inky and Dinky. He is a very happy Bill.

He took them on a tour of the enclosure and showed them all of the things. He introduced them to the bucks and rams. Such a gentleman! His new friends have made him a bit protective, and now, when mom comes in, he chases after her and tries to bite her legs. Chance, one of our livestock dogs, does not like Bill issuing threats to his favorite human. Mom laughs and tells him he is a tough guy. I guess she is not scared of ducks.
That’s all I have to say for this week. Besides, I need a haircut. This is getting ridiculous.

Bug here with this week’s security update.
The pesky raccoons have gotten a little too brazen this week. You see, the delivery driver made a big, big mistake. He delivered a damaged box of dog food after dark, and he did not let mom know it had arrived.
All was quiet on the farm, when all of sudden around 11:00 pm, we heard something. It was in the driveway, which is out of our jurisdiction, but that did not stop us from sounding the alarm. Once we alerted to the presence of the bandits, the house dogs carried the charge (they are much closer to the crime scene). Rayne, the cattledog, ran out to the back fence and told the masked intruders they best move along, or else…
In the morning, an investigation revealed that the band had torn open the box and opened a bag of our food. Oh, that makes me very angry. OUR FOOD. If they every come over that fence, it will be game on.
Nanny Chicken, back with more baby news:
First and foremost, I have picked my assistant… well, assistants. Due to my indecisive nature, I couldn’t choose. So, I decided to employ both Kiwi Chicken and Apple Chicken. They are both very eager to help me this year.

Apple Chicken has met the goats personally… on accident. She made the usually grave mistake of jumping into the main pasture to have a look around. Other chickens before her have done the same, and the outcome has not been so good. However, the dogs have gotten used to the chickens now, and mom has told them they are never, ever, ever, ever allowed to touch a chicken with their teeth… or paws… or any part of their body.
So when we saw Apple walking around the pasture introducing herself to everyone, all of our little chicken hearts about stopped. Rais’in gave her a tour… that is until mom ran in and explained why we don’t go in the main pasture. All’s well that ends well, I guess.

Another week here in Paradise.
But I am starting to get a little worried.
My grass is getting too short. That means I might starve. Mom says we need more rain, and the weather app says it might happen this week. More rain will make my grass longer? I sure hope so.
But if it rains, I can’t go eat my grass. How is that fair? We need rain to get grass, but rain keeps me away from grass. I am going to have to think on that dilemma for a little bit.
On better news, I have succeeded in making mom give me a banana every single day. A whole banana, and I do not have to share it. Although Cricket, one of the little house dogs, tries to steal it. He tries to steal all of my food, but he is my buddy, so I guess I can let him have a bit.
Until next week, hope for rain. Or maybe don’t? I guess, just hope!
